KIAC Men's All-Conference Team

Pippa Passes, KY----The Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has announced their 2008-2009 All-Conference team for men's basketball, with two Eagles making the team of 10.  Senior Michael Spann (Wilmore, Ky.) and junior Brian Johnson (Wilmore, Ky.) were selected.

Spann has started all 30 games this season and led the team with 489 points scored, good for a 16.3 average.  Spann is second on the team with 84 assists and 171 total rebounds this season.  Michael led the team with 59 made three-pointers and shot 43% from the floor overall.  Spann had a season-high 32 points in the first round of the KIAC Tournament against Alice Lloyd.

Johnson also started all 30 games this season and has had his best season as a collegian.  Johnson has averaged 11.6 points per game and 6.8 rebounds per game.  He leads the team in total rebounds with 205 and assists with 97.  He also has 51 steals this season to lead the team.  All those numbers are career highs.

Asbury will return to the Luce to host Cincinnati Christian University in the NCCAA Mid-East Regional Qualifier on Thursday March 5th at 7pm.
