Layton Takes KIAC Honors

BEREA, Ky. - Asbury University freshman Scott Layton was named the KIAC men’s tennis player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, April 23

Asbury finished the week with a 2-1 record after defeating Brescia (9-0) and St. Louis College of Pharmacy (8-1). Layton was 2-1 in #2 singles play and 2-1 in #1 doubles play. He won his #2 singles match against Brescia 6-3, 6-1 and his #1 doubles match 8-3. The freshman won his #2 singles match against St. Louis College of Pharmacy 6-0, 6-0 and his #1 doubles match 8-1.

The Eagles are 9-6 overall and 4-0 in conference play. They will return to action on April 23 when they host Oakland City University.
