Eagles Win Again, Take Down Greenville

WILMORE, Ky. – The men’s tennis team continued their hot start on Saturday, defeating Greenville College (Ill.) 5-4.  The Eagles have won five straight after dropping their first match of the season.

Once again it was the Eagles’ depth that helped propel them to victory as they took number two and three doubles and number three, five and six singles.  Graham Howell and Taylor Wise remain unbeaten this season in doubles competition, as they took the third spot 8-4 against Brent Wiedman and Taylor Dunnington. 

Nick Nozell and Justin Westlund won for the fourth time in five matches as a team, taking down Ryan Haas and Jesse Shaw 8-3 in number two doubles.  Nozell and Westlund also won their singles matches and number five and six respectively.  Nozell defeated Haas 6-0, 6-2 and Westlund won 6-0, 6-0 over Wiedman.

Curran Howell was also a winner in singles, improving to 4-2 on the season.  Howell defeated Dunnington 6-4, 6-3.

Asbury puts their unblemished KIAC record (2-0) on the line with they travel to Indiana Southeast (5-5, 3-1 KIAC) on Tuesday for a 5:00 pm match.
