Swim Teams Dominant in Wins over Milligan, Campbellsville

WILMORE, Ky. – The Eagles had one of their best days in the pool on Friday as they dominated their opposition for four total wins. In all the Eagles won 14 events.
The men captured wins of 71-23 and 78-9 against Milligan and Campbellsville, respectively. The 400 medley relay team, comprised of Friend Bechtel, Jimmy Hall, Graham Duncan and Cody Barnes, started off with a win. The men continued to control the score by taking first place in 10 out of their 11 events.
The women finished similarly by winning 81-14 against Milligan and 76-19 against Campbellsville. They finished 9 out of their 11 events in first as 400 medley relay members Katie Duncan, Emily Myers, Leah Fanning and Claire Houlton touched the wall first to catapult the Eagles to a win.
Additional first place winners for the Eagles included Jake Bjork (1600 free), Kayley Valentien (200 free and 200 IM), Joey Zeltwanger (50 free), Tommy Otley (200 IM), Caitlin Gagnon (100 fly), and Abby Oberholtzer (100 free).
Cody Barnes also qualified for Nationals in the 100 free with a time of 48.53.
The men increased their record to 4-4 and the women bumped theirs to 4-5. The Eagles will get a break in the action and won’t compete again until December 6th at the Union College Winter Invitational in Barbourville, Ky.
