Women Get First Win of Season Over Lindsey Wilson
COLUMBIA, Ky. - The women's swimming team picked up their first team win of the season with strong efforts from various different avenues. The Eagles captured the win 128-113 over Lindsey Wilson Saturday afternoon.
Kayley Valentien led the women with three wins. Valentien's wins in the 1000 free, 100 breast and 500 free went a long way to seaing the women's first win of the season.
Cali Thomas also put up a strong effort for the Eagles' swimmers as she picked up a win in the 200 free and helped the Eagles secure a 1-2-3 finish in the 50 free from Katie Bures (27.70), Thomas (27.75) and Ruth Klein (27.84).
The men are still in search of their first win of the season as they dropped the team decision against Lindsey 188-52.
Tommy Otley turned in another solid peformance as he placed second in the 100 breaststroke (1:02:77) and won two events-- the 200 breast (2:16:13) and the 200 IM (2:04:09).
The Eagles will be back in the pool to take on Brenau University and St. Catharine for a tri-meet next Saturday here in Wilmore.
