Swimmers Set For Conference Meet
BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – Asbury’s men’s and women’s swimming teams will begin the 2013 Appalachian Swim Conference Meet today (February 14) at the Stivers Aquatic Center in Barbourville. This is the sixth ASC Championship and second straight to be hosted by Union (Ky.) College.
The three day event begins with one session on Thursday at 6pm followed by prelims and finals on Friday and Saturday. The prelim session each day begins at 9:30 am with the finals set for 6:00 pm. There will be no coverage of the morning prelims.
Both the men and women finished second in the meet a year ago. The women had won the previous four meets (2008-11) and the men have also won two times (2008-09). Wheeling Jesuit won both the men’s and women’s titles a year ago.
The 14-member Appalachian Swim Conference encompasses schools from the NAIA, NCAA D2 and NCAA D3.
