Asbury Falls Short to IUPUI
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Asbury dominated the freestyle races but came up just short against NCAA Division I IUPUI 162-140 on Friday night. Asbury won four of the five individual freestyle races and the only relay.
Matt Hood swept the freestyle sprints, winning the 50 yard free in 21.78 and the 100 in 48.23. Tyler Decker placed second in the 50 and Nathan Runtas finished behind Hood in the 100. Hood also won the 200 yard free with a time of 1:47.37.
Daniel Bowman won the 1000 yard free in his first collegiate meet with a time of 9:57.52. Trevor Ehrenheim took the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:03.53. The Eagles swept both relays, winning the 200 free with a team of Chris Lipka, Blake Lawless, Nathan Runtas, and Tyler Decker in a time of 1:30.95. The team of Pat Armstrong, Ehrenheim, Bowman, and Matt Hood took the 200 yard medley in 1:39.94.
The Eagles will host their first meet on Saturday October 16th with the annual Christian College Invitational starting at 4:00 pm.
