Bowman Joins Eagles Swim Program
Wilmore, Ky. – The Asbury University men’s swimming and diving program has announced the signing of Daniel Bowman (Lodi, Cali.) for the 2010-11 season. Bowman is the fastest incoming freshman to ever compete for the Eagles.
A member of the Lodi City Swim Club under Coach John Griffin, Bowman is a Junior Nationals competitor, a U.S. Senior National qualifier, and U.S. Open qualifier. In the 2009 Speedo Championship Series, he placed 5th in the 800 free (8:21.48 LCM), and was a semi-finalist in the 200 fly (2:07.55 LCM). He has competed at multiple Grand Prix meets, including the 2010 Long Beach Southern California Grand Prix, where he semi-finaled in the 200 fly. Bowman holds club records in the 200 fly, 100 fly, 400 free, 800 free long course and 200 fly short course.
Bowman has competed in NFCFA speech and debate, placing 7th in the nation in the apologetics event. He enjoys teaching kids to swim and has received the Congressional Award silver certificate. He is interested in studying Media Communications.
