Swimmers Set to Race at Nationals

Twenty-four Asbury swimmers are in St. Peters, Missouri for the NAIA Men's & Women's Swimming & Diving National Championships.  The Eagles have 13 girls and 11 guys competing in the 30th Annual Women's Championship and the 54th Men's Championship.

Asbury won't hit the pool for competition until Thursday at 10:00 am.  The Asbury women enter as the 5th rated team in the NAIA.  All five relays have qualified as well as 13 racers in 13 different events.  Five girls have qualified for the 200 Freestyle and four for the 500 Freestyle, 100 and 200 Breaststroke and the 50 Freestyle.  Nine girls have qualified in three individual events and one has qualified for four.

The men qualified 11 individuals in 11 different events as well as all five relay teams.  Four different swimmers qualified in the 200 and 500 Freestyle events and three each in the 1650 Freestyle, 50 Freestyle, 200 IM, 200 Breast, and the 100 Fly events.
