DeFreitas begins his second season as an assistant coach in the Eagles program in 2010. In 2009 DeFreitas led the first men's reserve program at Asbury. He previously coached local club teams in Central Kentucky.

DeFreitas graduated in 2009 from Asbury University after spending three years as a member of the Eagles squad. While at Asbury, he helped lead the team to their first winning season in 24 years in 2005, and led the team with eight goals scored. DeFreitas was also a member of the 2006 NCCAA Mid-East regional champion team who made the school’s only appearance in the NCCAA National Tournament. As a senior, he led the Eagles to the KIAC Tournament Championship and to an NAIA Regional Tournament appearance in 2007.

DeFreitas spent his freshmen year at Tusculum College, an NCAA II school in Tenn., helping them to an NCAA Elite Eight Appearance in 2004.

DeFreitas is from Riceville, Tenn., and played four years at Christian Academy of Knoxville, winning two state championships. He now lives in Lexington.
