MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced Friday that 355 men’s soccer student-athletes have been named 2013 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes. Goshen (Ind.) leads all institutions with seven individuals on the list.
Asbury placed three on that list. Senior Caleb Griffin and juniors Garrett Davis and Stephen Mitchell were both honored. Mitchell had already been selected as a Capital One COSIDA Second Team Academic All-American this year.
In order to be nominated by an institution’s head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.
