Evans Takes KIAC Honor

Cliff EvansBEREA, Ky. - Asbury University freshman Cliff Evans was named the KIAC men’s soccer offensive player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, September 24.  Evans is the second Eagle to take the award this year after Trent Popp won it on September 3.

Asbury finished the week 1-1 last week after defeating Mount St. Joseph 1-0 and losing to Transylvania University 2-1 in overtime. Evans scored the lone goal in the victory of Mount St. Joseph. It was the Asbury midfielder’s first career game-winner which snapped a three-game losing streak. It was his second goal on the season. 

Asbury is currently 4-4 overall and 0-1 in conference play. The Eagles will return to action on September 25 when they travel to Berea College.
