Cliff EvansCINCINNATI, Ohio – Cliff Evans scored the lone goal as Asbury snapped a three-game losing streak with a 1-0 win over Mt. St. Joseph on Saturday.  It was the second career goal for the freshman Evans, his first since the season-opening match.

The lone goal came just before the half in the 42nd minute as the Eagles took seven of their 14 shots in the first half.  The Lions (2-5-1) took seven shots in the match, but only one after halftime.  Jonathan Rehner led the Eagles (4-4) with four shots.  Dylan Fouts earned his first shutout of the season with the win and the second for the team, and the first since the season-opener.

Asbury played without their top two leading scorers in Trent Popp and Adam Howard who continue to nurse injuries.  The Eagles have two conference matches next week, travelling to Berea on Tuesday before returning home to host Brescia on Friday.  The KIAC Tournament will be seeded by LONGO rating, not record within the conference.  Each match will be hosted by the higher seed.
