Transy Takes Down Eagles

Hayes CreechLEXINGTON, Ky. – For the second time this year Asbury was shutout on the road as the Eagles lost to Transylvania 2-0 on Tuesday afternoon.  Asbury falls to 2-2 in road games and is 0-2 against NCAA Division III teams.  The Eagles host NCAA D III Mount St. Joseph on Friday.

Asbury (7-2-2) was held to a season low five shots on the night, the previous season low was 16 against Trevecca Nazarene on September 13th.  Trent Popp put the only shot on target for the Eagles on the night, also a season low. 

Transylvania (5-2-2) scored both of their goals in the final 10 minutes as Tony Spero got free on a breakaway in the 81st minute and Peter Mikhail scored in the 88th minute.  The Pioneers took only 10 shots in the game and put four on target.  Asbury keeper Dylan Fouts made two saves on the night.

Asbury will host Mount St. Joseph on Friday at 7 p.m. as they put their seven game home unbeaten streak on the line.
