Popp Named KIAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the 3rd Time
BEREA, Ky. – Asbury University junior Trent Popp was named the KIAC men’s soccer offensive player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, October 24th. This is the third player of the week award of the season for Popp.
Asbury finished the week 1-1 after defeating KIAC rival Mountain State University 8-0 and losing a close contest to Montreat College 3-2 in overtime. Popp scored a goal and assisted on another against Montreat. The junior forward also scored three goals in Asbury’s win over Mountain State. He currently ranks 16th in NAIA with 14 total goals. That mark is the most in Asbury men’s soccer since 1985.
Asbury has an overall record of 10-4-2 and is 3-1 in conference play. They will return to action on October 25th when they host Shawnee State University at 7 p.m.
