Eagles seasons ends in heart break

Phillip Mullins scored the only goal for the Eagles in a 2-1 2OT loss to Brescia on Friday night.WILMORE, Ky. – Asbury let an early lead slip away for the second time against Brescia University, this time the game didn’t end in a tie, but rather a 2-1 loss for the Eagles that ends their season.

For the second time this year the Bearcats and Eagles (3-10-4) battled into the second overtime, but Eurodger Bargblor’s goal with 6:24 left in the period sent Brescia to the KIAC Championship and Asbury home for the winter.

The Eagles jumped out on top early as Phillip Mullins headed in a corner from Adam Hicks in the 22nd minute.  From that moment on the momentum seemed to shift to Brescia, even down a goal, as they continued to attack.  The Bearcats would take 16 shots in the second half and overtime, Asbury would only take five.  Brescia tied the score in the 77th minute as Jack Hepple scored after a pass from Bargblor.
