Offensive Popp Gives Andrews First Win

BEREA, Ky. – An offensive outburst led the Eagles to their first win of the season on Wednesday night over Berea College 5-0.  The win is the first in the tenure of Head Coach Ben Andrews.

Trent Popp led the way with his first career hat-trick and also added an assist.  Ryan Moberley added a goal and an assist and Adam Hicks scored his second goal of the season.  Josh Braun and Philip Mullins added assists for the Eagles.Asbury (1-6-2, 1-0-1 KIAC) defeated  Berea (0-7, 0-2 KIAC) 7-1 last year in the regular season and 2-1 in the KIAC Championship.

Dyaln Fouts recorded his first shutout of the season in goal for Asbury.  The Eagles were able to control possession most of the match and continually assault the Berea goal.

Asbury will have another important KIAC match on Saturday in Beckley, W.Va. as they take on Mountain State at 3:00 pm.
