Eagles Shut Out 1-0
LOOKOUT MTN., Ga. – Asbury was shutout and lost to Covenant College on Saturday 1-0. Asbury got off 12 shots but a goal in the 22nd minute from Julian Allgeier gave the Eagles their eighth loss of the season.
“We played really well against a very talented team,” Asbury Coach Ben Andrews said. “We were able to create our own chances and they were good chances, we just didn’t finish.”
Asbury (3-8-3) had eight of their 12 shots on target and Trent Popp put three on frame, he led the team with five shots overall. Phillip Mullins put both of his shots on goal for the game. Dylan Fouts made nine saves in goal and had to face 21 shots overall.
Covenant (12-3) took 21 shots for the game and put 10 on frame. Allegier’s goal came in the 22nd minute as he found the net from the right side of the box. Allegier was a problem all day for the Eagles as he took six shots and put four on target. John Enger made eight saves for the shut out for Covenant.
Asbury will travel to Campbellsville for their final road test of the season on Thursday October 28th, they will finish the season at home on Saturday October 30th against Georgetown.
