Men's Soccer Schedule Released

Wilmore, Ky. – Asbury University men’s soccer Coach Ben Andrews has released the schedule for his first season at the helm of the program.  The Eagles will play 16 regular season games including six at home.

Asbury will open with a scrimmage at home against The Crown College on August 27th at 7:00 pm.  Their regular season will get under way at the Glenn Hyundai Showcase at Transylvania University September 3rd and 4th.  The Eagles will take on the hosts on the 3rd at 1:00 pm with a game against Centre College on the 4th at 2:00 pm.

The Eagles will only play six of their 16 regular season games at home this year with the first coming against Mid-Continent University on September 7th at 5:00 pm.  Asbury will host Cincinnati Christian University at home on October 20th at 7:00 pm, their only home KIAC game of the year.  The Eagles will also host Bryan College, NCAA Division II Lincoln Memorial University, Union University and Georgetown College.  Georgetown is this year’s Homecoming game as well as Senior Night on October 30th at 7:00 pm.

Asbury has a six game road trip in the middle of the season including a weekend swing to Indiana to play Indiana Wesleyan and Taylor University September 17th-18th.  They will also battle University of the Cumberlands, and their three KIAC opponents Brescia University, Berea College, and Mountain State University on the trip.  The Eagles will also travel to Lookout Mountain, Georgia to take on Covenant College and will also play Campbellsville University.

The KIAC men’s soccer tournament will once again be awarded the regular season champion and will take place on November 5th and 6th.  Since the KIAC has fewer than the necessary six members the tournament winner will take on the Gulf Coast Conference Champion for a spot in the NAIA Opening Round on November 21st.  The NAIA Men’s Soccer National Championship will be in Fresno, California from November 29th culminating with the championship game on December 4th.
