Moberley Inks with Eagles
Wilmore, Ky. – Asbury men’s soccer has announced the signing of Ryan Moberley to the men’s soccer program for the 2010 season. Moberley becomes newly appointed Head Coach Ben Andrews’ fifth signee for the fall.
Moberley recently finished a prestigious career at West Jessamine High School in Nicholasville, Ky. twice being named 2nd Team All-State. He was also named to the 27th District All-Tournament Team in 2008 and the All-Tournament Team of the 2008 Male Bulldog Cup. He has led the team in goals scored the past two seasons with 15 in 2008 and 12 in 2009. He also has recorded 10 assists in that time.
A member of the club team Jessamine Storm ’92, Moberley has been team captain for four years as well as two years as captain at West Jessamine. He has been selected to participate in the Kentucky Olympic Development Program for two years, a program that allows the best players in the state to train and compete together at the state, regional, national, and international levels.
“Ryan’s talent level and high character will simply add to the great players and quality individuals we already have here at Asbury,” Coach Ben Andrews said. “Ryan has proven to be a very dangerous player in the attack and I expect him to adapt well and be very successful at the collegiate level. I’m looking forward to him helping us reach our goals in the upcoming season.”
The Most Outstanding Player award has been given to Moberley the last two seasons at West Jessamine. Moberly is a mid-fielder that played a crucial part in West Jessamine’s run to the quarterfinals of the state tournament in 2008.
