Oakley Coach of the Year, Three Players Honored

The KIAC and its men's soccer coaches announced the 2009 All-Conference team at the men's soccer tournament in Bluefield, Virginia over the weekend. Three Eagles and Head Coach Josh Oakley were honored for their work this season.

Oakley was named Coach of the Year after guiding his squad to the tournament championship and a 3-1 mark in conference play during the season. This was the second tournament championship for the Eagles in the last three years, after taking the title in 2007.

Senior John Greer (Lexington, Ky.), sophomore Julian Botella (Flagler Beach, Fla.), and freshman Dylan Fouts (Lexington, Ky.) were all named to the All-Conference First Team. Fouts started 12 games this season and was 5-7 in those games. He had a goals against average of 1.67 for the season and only allowed three goals in four conference games.

Asbury will play on the road this weekend in a qualifier for the NAIA National Tournament against the winner of Mobile (Ala.) and William Carey (Miss.). Asbury will play on Saturday at 7:00 pm in either Mobile, Alabama or Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
