Asbury Set To Face Mobile

Asbury men's soccer will travel down to Mobile, Ala. to take on University of Mobile for a berth into the NAIA Opening Round. The game will be played in Mobile on Saturday at 7:00 pm eastern on Saturday November 14th.

Asbury won the KIAC after defeating Berea College 2-1 last Saturday and Mobile beat #9 William Carey 4-0 Thursday night to win the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference. Neither conference has the required six teams to be awarded an automatic bid to the 32-team National Tournament.

The Eagles finished the season with a 6-13 record and 3-1 in the KIAC but avenged their conference loss to Brescia by beating the Bearcats in the tournament semi-final 3-1. Asbury would go on to win their second tournament title in three years.

Mobile sits at 8-10 and 2-2 in the GCAC. The Rams have a rich soccer tradition, making the NAIA Tournament 12 times including a run to the Elite 8 last year. Mobile won the NAIA National Title in 2002.

The winner will play in the 32 team NAIA Opening Round on Saturday November 21st with a chance to move to the final site of the National Tournament in Fresno, California November 30th-December 5th.
