Eagles Drop Physical Game
Dayton, Tenn. - A physical game and a pair of second half goals doomed the men's soccer team in their first game of the Bryan College Classic, falling to the host Lions 2-0.
Asbury (0-2) had their chances in the first half but Trent Pop's two shots on goal were turned away by Bryan keeper Rodrigo Pigatto. The Eagles would not even get a shot off in the second half, all five total shots coming in the first half. Bryan took nine shots in the first half but only one was on frame, they also took six shots in the second half with three being on frame.
It was a very physical game with 20 fouls called on Asbury and 17 on Bryan. There were eight total cards handed out as well, with five being given to Asbury players. Evan Duszynski picked up his second yellow and was sent off of the field in the 85th minute, meaning the Eagles would finish the game a man down.
Asbury will play the #1 team in the NAIA and defending National Champion in Bethel (TN) on Saturday September 5th at 5:00 pm in the second day of the Bryan College Classic.
