Eagles Earn Spot in KIAC Championship
Wilmore, KY--- Alasdair Woffitt's goal in the 45th minute was enough to take out Berea in the semi-finals of the KIAC Tournament Wednesday, as the Eagles won 3-0. Asbury will move on to the championship Saturday against Mountain State University at 1pm at Bluefield College.

Asbury (5-12-1) started slow but Woffitt's goal off a direct kick was the jump start the Eagles needed. Harrison Creech took the kick from 25 yards out, played it into the corner where Julian Botella sent a cross right in front of the goal. Woffett was there to re-direct it into the net. Asbury's second goal would come from Seth Eckert in the 60th minute when he juggled to ball to himself and struck it past Berea's keeper.
Asbury keeper Logan Faulkner came up with one of the biggest plays of the game in the 83rd minute. Berea's Ismaila Ceesay was awarded a penalty kick after he was taken down in the box, and on the kick Faulkner got a hand on it and knocked it away, then saved the rebound attempt. Asbury got a quick counter and Nick Kerhoulas beat Berea's keeper as he came off his line to try and make a save.
Asbury lost to Mountain State 1-0 back on October 17th. Asbury's win over Berea is their first win since beating Cincinnati Christian 3-0 October 4th, and it snaps a seven game losing streak.
