Men's Soccer Caps off Homecoming

Wilmore, KY---The Asbury College men's soccer team capped off a successful homecoming weekend with a 3-0 win over Cincinnati Christian University Saturday night. The Eagles gave the crowd something to cheer about all night, relentlessly attacking the net.

Asbury's men gave the crowd something to cheer about all night, with a 3-0 vicotry over conference opponent Cincinnati Christian.

Asbury (4-5-1, 2-0) out shot CCU 29-9 and were called for off sides eight times in the contest. Junior forward Brent McGee scored the first goal of the match in the 27th minute off an assist from John Greer. McGee would add an assist in the 50th minute when he struck a perfect cross to junior Seth Eckert who headed it into the net. In the 63rd minute Eckert would return the favor, feeding McGee for his second goal of the game.

Junior keeper Logan Faulkner had his second shutout of the season, only needing two saves as Cincinnati Christian struggled to get anything going offensively.

McGee picked up his 5th yellow card of the season, meaning he will have to sit out Asbury's next match against University of the Cumberlands Tuesday at 3pm. Asbury won't return home until October 21st when they host Mid-Continent University at 7pm.
