Soccer Drops Third Straight
Barbourville, KY --- The Asbury College men's soccer team dropped their third straight match Wednesday September 10 to Lincoln Memorial 4-0. The Railsplitters came into the game ranked 19th in the nation in NCAA II.
Asbury (1-3) could not get the offensive moving, only firing two shots with none on goal in the match. Lincoln Memorial (3-0-1) put 12 shots on goal and had 30 shots for the match.
The Railsplitters got their first goal off a corner kick when Kyle Gros deflected the ball off his head and into the net in the 40th minute. Lincoln Memorial would add three second half goals including another header (Tom Clark, 70th minute) as well as another off a corner kick (Adam Huber, 81st minute). Pedro Canineu scored the third goal of the afternoon in the 76th minture.
Junior goalkeeper Logan Faulkner came up with eight saves on the afternoon including five in the second half. Junior defender Jason U'Wren picked up his third yellow card of the season in the 76th minute, the same time Andrew Bayeri of Lincoln Memorial was booked. Junior midfielder Brent McGee picked up a yellow in the 31st minute.
Asbury will finally open up their home schedule when they host Bryan College Saturday September 13 at 2 pm.
