Men’s soccer opens with a win

WILMORE, KY—The Asbury College men’s soccer team opened their season on the road Friday, Aug. 29 with a 2-1 win against Hanover College in Hanover, Ind. The Eagles fell behind early after Hanover’s Tyler Smith scored in the 18th minute. Asbury (1-0) countered in the 33rd minute after senior Harrison Creech put a penalty kick into the back of the net. Sophomore Aladsair Wooffitt netted the game winner in the 40th minute on a breakaway.

Asbury College stays on the road this weekend with a tournament at Mount Vernon Nazarene University in Mount Vernon, Ohio.  The men will open their home portion of the schedule Saturday, Sept. 13 at 2 p.m. against Bryan College.
