Men's Soccer earns split at Judson Invitational
Asbury earned a split for the weekend at the Judson College Invitational, held in Elgin, Ill. over the weekend. The Eagles started off the weekend with a 2-1 win over Columbia (Mo.) thanks to a game-winning goal from junior Drake Bryan in the 59th minute. The teams were tied to that point thanks to goals in the 18th minute by Columbia and an equalizer by junior Harrison Creech off a rebounded shot off the post in the 34th minute before Bryan's heroics. Junior Cory Brown earned his third win of the season after stopping nine shots.
The Eagles would not fair as well against Ohio Dominican, ranked 17th nationally in the NAIA, losing 5-0. The Eagles were outshot 20-5 and had to play a man down from the 59th minute after Drake Bryan was given a red card.
With the mixed result, the team now stands at 3-3 on the season and will head back out on the road with games at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Ind. on Thursday, September 20th and a game against Huntington (Ind.) College on Saturday, September 22nd. The next home appearance for the men will occur on Tuesday, September 25th when they take on Georgetown (Ky.) College.
