Men's Soccer cruises past Pikeville

Asbury scored a total of eight goals, including a four-goal game from sophomore Brent McGee in a decisive, 8-1 win over Pikeville (Ky.) on Tuesday night. McGee began the scoring on the night in the 3rd minute of the game, combining with two goals in the first half from defender Josh Appel, and a goal from sophomore Zac Peterson to stake Asbury to a 6-0 halftime lead. McGee would add his fourth goal of the night in the 62nd minute before Pikeville's Ken McAlpine would ruin the shutout bid in the 70th minute. Junior Harrison Creech would close out the night, providing the final margin in the 81st minute. Seniors Nate DeFreitas and Manes Preptit would earn assists on McGee's second and third goals.

The win puts Asbury back to .500 on the season at 2-2 before they head to the Judson College Invitational in Elgin, Ill over the weekend. The men return home on Tuesday, September 25th to face Georgetown (Ky.). Kickoff is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
