For senior Nate DeFreitas the third shot on goal proved the charm as the senior scored the game winning goal in the first overtime to even Asbury's season at 1-1 for 2007. The Eagles had controlled play for most of the night, registering 20 shots, eight on goal, along with seven corner kicks to none for Hanover.

DeFreitas' goal was made possible by a goal in the 60th minute by freshman Danny Winklepleck on a penalty shot. Winklepleck followed the initial save by Hanover goalkeeper, Michael Hansford, to provide Asbury with a 1-0 lead that was short lived as Hanover's Seyram Kekessie scored in the 67th minute to equalize.

The Eagles had previous chances as sophomore captain Brent McGee (pictured, left) ricocheted a shot off the right post and Hansford made a point blank save on an DeFreitas attempt in the second half. Junior Cory Brown earned his first win for the season, recording three saves in net in 96 minutes of play.

The team will take to the road on Labor Day for a night game in Dayton, Tenn. vs. Bryan College. The teams met last year, settling for a scoreless tie in Wilmore. After that, the men won't return to the field until Tuesday, September 11th for a home game against Pikeville (Ky.). Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. for the Pikeville game.
