Men's Lacrosse Adds Local Product Taevon Morton
LEXINGTON, Ky. - Taevon Morton, a senior from Bryan Station High School in Lexington, became the second Kentucky product to sign on the dotted line on Friday as he signed to become an Eagle for the inaugural 2014-15 season of Asbury men's lacrosse.
Morton, the Eagles' latest signee, is the first lacrosse player from Bryan Station to play sign to play collegiate lacrosse.
"I'm so happy to be an Asbury Eagles," Morton said via twitter.
"Taevon has been waiting, with the paperwork printed out, on this day for nearly two weeks," coach Stewart said. "With all the cold weather and snow and school cancellations lately we just couldn't find a day to work, so he would have actually been the first Kentucky product.
"Either way, I can't wait to be able to work with Taevon and help him grow as a person and player. He has told me that he will be the hardest working player out there on that field and I believe him. I'm excited what Taevon and this team will be able to accomplish next season."
Coach Stewart and the Eagles continue to build the first ever roster for the 2015 season and invite anyone interested- whether a current senior in high school or not- to explore the option of playing lacrosse at Asbury.
