WESTON, Fla. - Evan Trabosh, a goalie from Cypress Bay High School in Weston, Fla., became the men's lacrosse team's first official signee on Tuesday.
"It feels so good to finally sit down and make this official," head coach Josh Stewart said. "I met Evan back in September and we've been working hard to get this done for a while now, and I am very excited that Evan became my first signee."
Trabosh is a senior at Cypress Bay High School in Weston, Fla. In the 2013 lacrosse season, Trabosh became the Lightning's starting goalie and led his team to a 9-1 record between the pipes while collecting a .719 save percentage.
"I hope Evan starts a trend for us. I cannot truly describe the type of opportunity that we are going to have here in the years to come, but the young men that I get to come in this first season will be the building blocks for everyone that follows," Stewart added. "Being the first to play lacrosse at this institution is something that can never be taken away from these players, and that should be exciting for anyone."
Asbury will start competition in the fall of 2014 with a short fall ball season and will look to compete in the MCLA in the Spring 2015.
