Eagles Outshoot Competition at Berea Invitational
BEREA, Ky. - The Eagles' men shot below 300 for the first time this season and captured a win over five other teams on Saturday. The women followed suit with a win, too.
Steven Brooks shot a plus-2 72 to lead the Eagles on the par-70, 6,313 yard Battlefield Golf Club course. Mason Carter and Luke Rose turned in scorecards with a 73 on each, just one stroke behind Brooks.
Buzzy Amann from Cincinnati Christian turned in the low score for the round with an even-par 70.
On the women's side, Mandy Smith turned in the low scorecard for the Eagles who also took first place as a team over Bryan College and Midway College. Combs turned in an 88 on the day and teammate Madison Combs was a close second with an 89. All five golfers for the Eagles shot below 100, which garnered them the win.
The Eagles are back at it on Monday at the Bulldog Invitational at Union College in Pineville, Ky. The invite is a two-day 36 hole event.
