Men's Golf Takes 6th at Bluegrass Spring Classic
GEORGETOWN, Ky. – Asbury men’s golf finished 6th at the Bluegrass Spring Classic hosted by Georgetown College at Cherry Blossom on Tuesday. The Eagles finished in a tie with St. Catharine with a two day total of 627.
The Eagles entered the day fourth after shooting 308 on Monday but fell to 6th after a 319 on day two. St. Catharine overcame 12 strokes on day two to catch the Eagles. Campbellsville won the tournament by 25 strokes after shootin 585 (287-298).
Jordan Wood just missed out on a top-10 finish, placing in a tie for 11th with a 153 (73-80). He entered the day in a tie for fourth. Luke Rose placed 20th after carding a 156 (78-78), only three strokes behind Wood. Zach Lemons was just a stroke behind Rose, shooting 157 (79-78) and placing 21st. Steven Brooks placed 27th with a 161 (78-83) and Daniel Patterson shot a 164 (80-84).
Campbellsville’s Scott Foster led throughout the tournament and beat teammate Trey Shirley by three strokes. Foster shot 141 (69-72) to finish three-under for the tournament. Shirley finished even par for the event with a 144 (71-73).
Asbury will be in action again at the KIAC Tournament on April 29-30. The 54-hole tournament will be held at Gibson Bay in Richmond, Ky.
