Men's Golf Picked Second in KIAC

AU GolfBEREA, Ky. – Asbury men’s golf has been picked second by Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Coaches for the 2013 season.  The Eagles finished second in the KIAC Tournament a year ago, and rising junior Zach Lemons missed out on the individual crown by one stroke.

Asbury received one first-place vote and 40 points overall in the preseason poll.  Brescia, who won the KIAC Tournament a year ago, took first in the poll with three first-place votes and 44 points.  Newcomer Point Park finished one point behind Asbury with 39, and two first-place votes.  Indiana East also took a first-place vote and finished fourth with 30 points.

Cincinnati Christian took 20 points, good for fifth and Berea received 14 votes and finished sixth.  Alice Lloyd rounds out the field with eight points.

The Eagles have already competed in six events during the fall season and will play four regular season events and the KIAC Tournament in the spring.  Their first event will be on March 16 in Bardstown.  The 54-hole KIAC Tournament will be in Richmond, Ky. on April 29-30.
