Men's and Women's Golf Wraps Up Fall Season

PINEVILLE, Ky. – Asbury men’s and women’s golf wrapped up play at the Union (Ky.) Fall Invite on Tuesday. The men finished fifth out of six teams while the women finished sixth out of six. The two-day, 36-hole tournament was held at Wasioto Winds Golf Club.
Luke Rose was the top finisher for the Asbury men, placing sixth out of 33 golfers with a two-day score of 154 (76-78). Rose is tied with Daniel Gibbons with the most Top-10 finishes of the year with two. Thomas Scott from Union won the tournament with a two-under 142 (73-69) on the par-72 course.
Union won the men’s team tournament with a score of 599 (300-299) followed by Spalding at 619 (3085-311). Asbury scored a 641 (319-322) and was followed by Union’s B team who carded a 684 (346-338). Pikeville finished third with a 623 (309-314) and Cumberlands’ B squad finished fourth with a 630 (322-308).
Jordan Wood scored a 159 (79-80) for the Eagles and finished in a tie for 15th while Zach Lemons carded a 163 (82-81) to finish in a tie for 19th. Daniel Gibbons also helped out the cause with a 166 (83-83).
On the women’s side Madison Combs led the Eagles with a 177 (92-85) to finish in 15th. Combs’ second day 85 was the eighth best score of the day. The women finished with a 773 (399-374). Union won the event with a 686 (341-345). Lexi Stewart from Tennessee Wesleyan won the tournament with a 164 (82-82).
This wraps up play for the men and women in the fall season with the spring schedule to be released in the near future.
