Eagles Fall to 5th, Lemons Takes 4th
NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. – The Eagles finished in fifth with a team score of 676 on Tuesday, the final day of competition in the Asbury Spring Invitational. The University of Northern Ohio came away with the team victory, finishing with a score of 623. Indiana Tech placed second with a score of 640, Brescia University (A) finished third with a score of 653, and Brescia University (B) finished fourth with a score of 668. Cincinnati Christian, Berea College, and Alice Lloyd College finished in sixth, seventh, and eighth place respectively.
Asbury’s Zach Lemons finished the tournament in 4th place, after shooting a two day total of 156. The University of Northern Ohio (UNOH)’s Matt Smith came in first with a score of 152. Keith Long (UNOH) placed second with a score of 153, Mark Zeneke (IT) placed third with a score of 155, and Austin Clarkson (UHOH) placed fifth with a 157.
Lemons’ second round was highlighted by two birdies. Lemons recorded four birdies over the course of the two day tournament in addition to 19 pars. Both place him second in the respective categories for the entire tournament field.
In addition to Lemons’ 156, the Eagles recorded the following two day totals; Daniel Gibbons an 161, Zach Burr a 178, and Brooks Toole a 181.
Asbury will resume play on Thursday, April 19th when they travel to White Water, Ohio to take part in the Cincinnati Christian Tournament.
