Gibbons Leads, Eagles in 2nd After Day One at Berea

BEREA, Ky. – Sophomore Daniel Gibbons leads by one stroke in the Berea Spring Tee-Off Tournament at Battlefield Golf Club.  Gibbons shot a one-over 73 in the first round and leads Indiana East’s Joey Smart by one stroke.  No other golfer shot in the 70’s in the round.

Asbury’s 329 total trails Indiana East by three strokes after the first day of play.  Cincinnati Christian sits in third place with a 349 total.  Berea and Alice Lloyd sit in a distant fourth and fifth place with 434 and 448 totals respectfully. 

Asbury’s Zack Burr sits in sixth place with an 83 and Brooks Toole is right behind his teammate with an 84.  

The final round of play will get underway on Saturday at 9 a.m.
