Eagles Take Two Second Place Finishes
BEREA, Ky. – Asbury’s men’s golf team registered two second-place finishes on the weekend, tying for second on Friday at the Brescia University Invitational and taking second on Saturday at the Berea College Tournament. Both days the Eagles were seven strokes behind the top team.
Zack Lemons shot the second best round of the tournament on Friday with a 73. Other scores were from Luke Rose with a 79, Daniel Gibbons shot an 80 and Jordan Wood shot an 83. Brescia won the tournament with a team score of 308 as Asbury tied with Vincinnes University with a 315. Oakland City shot a 321.
On Saturday the Eagles shot a team best 294, but were bested by KIAC rival Indian East who shot a 287. Rose led the Eagles with a personal best three-under 69. Gibbons and Zach Lemons were both two-over at 74 and Wood shot a 77.
Asbury will take part in the Georgetown College Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at Cherry Blossom Golf Course in Georgetown.
