Cross Country Teams Turn in Strong Showing in Louisville
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Despite adverse conditions, the Eagles' runners turned in solid performances at the Greater Louisville Classic on Saturday. Taylor Diehl and Katy Falkenberg were the top runners for the Eagles in what turned out to be a rain-soaked race.
Falkenberg led the Eagles with her 24th place finish (20:05) and Justine Vonderheide wasn't too far behind as she finished in 38th (20:34). As a team the Eagles' women finished in 9th of 33 teams.
The Eagles had five runners place in the top one-hundred runners in a 261-person race.
On the men's side, Taylor Diehl (28:38) continued to be the Eagles' top-runner as he turned in a 80th place finish with a time of 28:38.46. As a team, the Eagles placed 28th of 33 teams in attendance.
Mason Lambert, Savannah Riley, Shelly Crist, Taylor Diehl, and Caleb Woodard all put up personal records despite the adverse conditions.
The next scheduled race for the Eagles' is in Owensboro, Ky., at the Fast Cats Classic on Oct. 12.
