Men's Cross Country Picked Third by KIAC Coaches

BEREA, Ky. - The KIAC coaches have selected Berea College as the top men’s cross country team, conference officials announced Wednesday, August 15th. The Berea men won the 2011 conference championship last season.  Asbury was picked third.

The Mountanieers collected 54 points in the poll including five first place votes. Coaches were not permitted to vote for their own team.  Brescia was last season’s championship runner-up and was selected in the second spot by league coaches with 51 points and three first place votes. Asbury and Cincinnati Christian claimed the third and fourth spots with 39 points and 34 points respectively. They are followed in the poll by IU East (30 points), St. Louis College of Pharmacy (28 points), Alice Lloyd College (20 points), and conference newcomers Point Park (19 points) and Carlow University (14 points). The 2012 cross country season will begin in late August.
