Brewster Leads Eagles to 3rd Place Finish

WILMORE, Ky. – Asbury’s men placed third in the Chick-fil-A Invitational on Thursday afternoon.  Jarred Brewster continued his pace from last year as the team’s top finisher, placing 11th out of 45 runners.

Brewster, who is a two-time qualifier for the NAIA National Meet, finished in a time of 18:42.  Tyler Doolittle from Georgetown College won the race with a 17:29 mark.  The Tigers placed six in the top-ten and took first and second.  Georgetown finished with 22 points, 21 ahead of second place Indiana East.  Asbury had 76 points.

The Eagles placed two other runners inside the top-20 as sophomore Eric Sanders finished 16th with a time of 19:06 and freshman Tyler Diehl finished 19th with a 19:32 time.  Tyler Zweifel and Kale Bandy weren’t too far behind as they took 24th and 26th place.

Asbury will hit the course again on Friday September 9th as they travel to Highland Heights, Ky. and the campus of Northern Kentucky University.
