Richardson Leads Eagles to Comeback Win at IU-Kokomo
KOKOMO, Ind. - Cam Richardson matched his season high in points to lead the Eagles to a comeback win against the Cougars from IU-Kokomo on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles trailed by five at the half.
The senior guard shot 10-19 from the field, and knocked down 4-8 from three point land in his best performance since the second game of the season, another 24-point game against Lindenwood-Belleville. Fellow senior CJ Penny added 22 points to help the Eagles (14-7, 6-4) turn the tables for the win. Five Eagles' players collected double figures on the afternoon.
The Cougars got double digits from six of their players, including a team-high 20 from Spencer Krhin.
The Cougars jumped out to the early lead in the game and would hold on to that lead through much of the first half of play. They went into the break with a five point advantage.
Penny and Richardson started the second have with one bucket each that would tie the game at 48. From there, a back and forth, neck-and-neck style game broke out until Austin Flannery's second of two freebies dropped to put the Eagles up for the duration with 4:36 left to play.
The Eagles corrected their shooting woes from the night before with a solid .516 percent from the field and a season best .840 from the charity stripe.
The Eagles stay on the road for their next contest. They will head to Berea for a February 4th matchup slated for 8 p.m.
