Men's Basketball Slide Hits Four
BUENA VISTA, Va. – Another poor shooting day was enough to send the Eagles to their fourth straight loss, 62-58 against Virginia University of Lynchburg in the Knight New Year Classic hosted by Southern Virginia University.
The Eagles (6-10) shot only 32% for the game and 29% in the second half. Asbury has shot under 40% in each of the past four games and are 1-7 overall when shooting under 40%.
Austin Flannery led the Eagles with 22 points on eight-of-17 shooting including five-of-seven from the free throw line. Dakotah Euton was the only other Eagle in double figures with 11 points.
Denius Gravely led Lynchburg with 30 points on 13-of-20 shooting. Lynchburg out-rebounded the Eagles 46-29. Euton led Asbury with seven boards.
Asbury returns to KIAC play for the remainder of the season, they will go to Berea College on Tuesday for a 7:30 pm tip. Their conference home opener will be Thursday at 8 pm against Brescia.
