Eagles Lose in Overtime

Marquel JohnsonWILMORE, Ky. – A 15-point first half lead wilted away as Brescia forced overtime with a Bryce Garrett three-pointer with six seconds left in overtime.  The Bearcats would go on to win 78-70 in the extra period.

Asbury (7-11, 1-3 KIAC) built a 15-point lead in the first half but let it slip away in the second half as they shot 33 percent in the second half and overtime.  They would finish the game under 40 percent and made only six-of-25 from beyond the arc in the game.  Brescia (9-11, 2-3) turned around a 27 percent shooting effort in the first half to a 44 percent clip in the second.

In overtime the Eagles held a four point lead, 69-65 with 3:20 to go, but finished the game 0-for-4 from the floor.  Brescia hit on all four free throws in the final 28 seconds to seal the win, their second in dramatic fashion over Asbury this year.  Hunter Rowe banked in a three with six seconds left to beat the Eagles 63-60 in Owensboro back on January 2.
