Men's Basketball Falls on the Road

Dylan PohlBLUEFIELD, Va. – Asbury couldn’t keep pace with the hot-shooting Rams from Bluefield on Tuesday night, losing 107-76.  The Eagles won an earlier match-up this season 90-81 in Wilmore.

Dylan Pohl came off the bench to lead Asbury (3-4) with a career-high 24 points on nine-of-11 shooting.  The freshman from Wilmore made two-of-three from long range and also grabbed five rebounds in only 25 minutes.

Both teams shot lights-out from the floor as the Eagles connected on 55% but Bluefield (3-4) was even better at 60%.  The Rams hit 12 threes on 21 attempts and would get to the line 26 times to Asbury’s nine.  Bluefield would also turn the ball over only six times while the Eagles gave it up 22 times.

Austin Flannery would score 18 points in the game despite not making a three for the first time all season.  He currently leads the team with 16.4 points per game.  Dakotah Euton would also be in double-figures with 10 points in only 17 minutes off the bench.

Kearsten Marion and Bryon Carpenter led all scorers with 28 points each.  Marion was a perfect 11-for-11 from the field and six-for-six from behind the three-point line.

Asbury will be back in action on November 29 as they travel to Cincinnati-Clermont.
