Vogel Named Scholar-Athlete

WILMORE, Ky. – Asbury junior center Peter Vogel was named Daktronics-NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball Scholar-Athlete for 2011 as announced by the NAIA.  To be eligible for nomination student-athletes must maintain a minimum of a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale and be at least a junior academically.

Vogel (Lexington, Ky.) appeared in 16 games this season scoring 23 points in 84 minutes.  He grabbed 25 rebounds and made 55.6% (10-18) of his shots.  Asbury captured their second KIAC Regular Season Championship in 2011, finishing in a three-way tie with Indiana Southeast and Indiana East.
