Morrison, Delph Named to KIAC All-Conference Team

Morrison was named to the KIAC All-Conference Team for the second straight year.Asbury had two players selected to the KIAC Men’s Basketball All-Conference team, as Phillip Morrison was honored for the second straight year and Adam Delph makes his first appearance.  Morrison was the leading scorer and Delph was second on a 20-8 team that was tri-champions of the KIAC with an 11-2 record.

Morrison, a senior guard from Louisville, Ky. ends his three-year career third on the school’s all-time scoring list with 1,770 points.  His 19 points per game career average is the second best in school history. 

This year Morrison averaged 21.9 points per game, which was second in the conference and 7th in NAIA DII.  He scored a season-high 35 against Berea College on January 18th.  In 27 games this season he scored 20+ points 14 times and 30+ four times.  He was named KIAC Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks, January 17th and 24th.

Delph was named to the All-Confernce team for the first time.Delph, a sophomre guard from Louisville, Ky., earned his first KIAC honors while averaging 15.4 points per game, 4.4 rebounds per game, 97 assists, 47 steals, and 29 blocks.  He led the team in assists and steals, was second in blocks and points, and third in rebounds. 

Delph scored over 20 points nine times including a career high 36 against Union (Ky.) back on December 3rd.   He was named KIAC Player of the Week twice, on December 6th and again on January 31st. 

Asbury’s Will Shouse was also named KIAC Men’s Basketball Coach of the Year after leading the Eagles to the second KIAC Regular Season Title, a title they shared with Indiana Southeast and Indiana East.
