Morrison named KIAC Player of the Week

Asbury University guard Phillip Morrison was named the KIAC men’s basketball player of the week by KIAC officials on January 17^th.  In three games last week, Morrison averaged 23.3 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists. 

The senior guard scored 25 points and pulled down 8 rebounds in an 84-59 victory over Cincinnati Christian University.  During the game, he surpassed 1,500 career points, becoming only the sixth player to reach that milestone.  Morrison led Asbury to an 82-80 upset over #15 IU Southeast while scoring 28 points and handing out 3 assists. 

On the week he made 24 of 42 shots from the field (57.1%) and 9 of 15 behind the arc (60%).  He currently ranks 8^th in NAIA Division II points per game with an average of 21.93. 

Asbury is set to return to action on January 18^th when they travel to Berea College.
