Morrison named KIAC Player of the Week
Asbury University guard Phillip Morrison was named the KIAC men’s basketball player of the week by KIAC officials on January 17th. In three games last week, Morrison averaged 23.3 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists.
The senior guard scored 25 points and pulled down 8 rebounds in an 84-59 victory over Cincinnati Christian University. During the game, he surpassed 1,500 career points, becoming only the sixth player to reach that milestone. Morrison led Asbury to an 82-80 upset over #15 IU Southeast while scoring 28 points and handing out 3 assists.
On the week he made 24 of 42 shots from the field (57.1%) and 9 of 15 behind the arc (60%). He currently ranks 8th in NAIA Division II points per game with an average of 21.93.
Asbury is set to return to action on January 18th when they travel to Berea College.
