Delph earns KIAC Honors
Asbury University guard Adam Delph was named the KIAC men’s basketball player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, January 31st. This is his second player of the week award on the season.
In a pair of conference games last week, Delph averaged 26 points, 6.5 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2.5 steals. The sophomore guard scored 28 points and collected 8 rebounds in a 95-77 win against Alice Lloyd College. He also scored 24 points and had 8 assists in a 74-45 victory over Saint Louis College of Pharmacy.
For the week, Delph made 61.3 percent of his shots from the field (19-of-31). He also connected on 45.5 percent from behind the arc (5-of-11). On the season, Delph is averaging 16.1 points per game to go along with 4 assists and 4.5 rebounds.
For the season Delph is second on the team in scoring at 16.1 ppg, and leads the team in total assists with 81. His average of 4.05 assists per game ranks 39th in the NAIA DII. He also ranks second on the team in blocks (20) and is third in rebounds at 4.5 per game.
Asbury is set to return to action on February 3rd when they travel to IU East.
